Disrespect

This is a term that sticks to me in every way, because this term can determine how someone views you. As well as how someone speaks upon you in a conversation with others. Disrespect can come in a variety a ways but at the top of the list is the way you speak to others. For years we have heard “respect your elders” and yes, this is true. But how far can us as humans respect someone including our elders when they are valiantly disrespecting us. When you become an adult you want to be treated as an adult. This means talk to me as if you have some sense, hear my side of the story your claiming and do this all with an inside voice.  I feel this term has to start at the home and be brought back to the job or where ever you may be off to next.  It bothers me deeply when I see an adult talking to another adult or maybe an adult older than them in the rudest way. Like they are a God and you are a bum and because they have a higher rank in a position they feel that they have a free range to disrespect. Can’t you get your point across in another way; so at the end of your statement that individual can still in some way like you? I would not dare to stand still as someone boldly disrespects me. Why would I, if you do not stand up for yourself then who will. Is it that individual are under the impression to allow everything to slide because you need your job? Or because they are older then you, meaning you cannot have a voice? The bigger picture is that you have control, control over your life control over your words and control over the surroundings you keep near. Your voice is as important as the next and I rather not kiss ass due to an insecurity that I may be at a loss of something. News flash, not having your own back has already brought you to a loss of self esteem. Do not allow something or one to get a pass all because you are afraid of losing something. If you lose it then it was never yours to keep in the first place. I pray that the adults as well as the upcoming ones will find their voices again and speak up to what they want, what they expect, and to the fact that they want be taking anymore shit from anyone. Omg, if the world only knew how each one of us plays an important part. It is not okay to be at a standstill in life; as in working at a job you hate, not speaking up to those who walk over you, not finding and fighting for what you want out of life. We only have this one moment and it’s up to us to fight through until our outcome is what we want it to be.
